Southern Germany is one of the financially most attractive markets for tourism destinations from around the world and it is little wonder therefore that the first major German tourism fair takes place every year in the Baden Wuerttemberg state capital Stuttgart, also known as the home of Mercedes Benz and Porsche.

Each year, the CMT in Stuttgart show attracts visitors from Germany but also from France and Switzerland and as far as Austria. Searching for their next vacation destination, these travel enthusiasts this year were able to meet some 2068 exhibitors from 98 countries showcasing their destinations and attractions to the German and international attendees.

The Reunion Island Tourism (IRT) was present during the nine days trade show, arguably the longest such tourism fair anywhere, in order to generate additional interest in this key market for more travel to Reunion.

In charge of marketing and promotion for the German speaking markets for the IRT were Larissa Metke and Marie-Christin Strecker. They were able to inform the general public about the tourist offerings of Reunion, as a beach destination but increasingly also as one of the world’s best adventure destinations. Alongside them were also exhibiting the representatives of the island’s home airline Air Austral in Germany, Katharina Essman and Bianca Goff, the representative of the hotel establishment Saint Alexis **** Hotel.

All the Reunion exhibitors noted a strong interest from trade show visitors for the destination Reunion in general. With packages promoted by tour operators partners, several specific requests for holiday stays Reunion were made ??by prospective travelers and promptly attended to. They thus benefited from specific rates offered by tour operators during the fair and chose the island of La Reunion there and then as their next destination for their holidays.
