Reunion targets Luxemburg for more tourists

IRT REPORTS SUCCESS AT THE 25TH VAKANZ TOURISM FAIR IN LUXEMBURG

Ile de la Reunion Tourisme, in short IRT, together with home airline Air Austral and the Saint Alexis Hotel & Spa kicked off their European marketing circuit with an attendance at the Vakanz Tourism Fair in Luxemburg earlier over the weekend.

Vakanz is the largest tourism fair of the year in Luxembourg and allows visitors to the show to discover the new programs of the tour operators as well as the most popular destinations which are ‘en vogue’ this year. Vakanz attracts each year more than 200 exhibitors presenting their destination and new tourism attractions.

The tourism fair gave an opportunity for the Reunion team to strengthen its reputation in the Luxembourg market which has been steadily expanding for several years now. Alongside the IRT did home airline Air Austral and the Saint Alexis Hotel & Spa attend Vakanz to consolidate the presence of Réunion during the three days of the exhibition.

IRT, which had its own stand of 16 square metres, was able to confirm continued interest by show visitors in the destination and the marketing effort was complemented by Luxemburg’s largest tour operator ULT, which specifically showcased Reunion after sending more than 300 tourists to the island last year. ULT has been offering vacations on Reunion for the past two years and following the success in the market plans to increase promotions and package offerings in 2016 to expand market share.
