OVER 300 TOURISM STAKEHOLDERS ATTENDED IRT’S FIRST E-TOURISM WEEK
(Posted 22nd June 2018)
"A TOTAL MAKEOVER!": This was the opinion of the participants of the first edition of the e-Tourism Meetings who were unanimous at the end of the two days of the event. In total, 333 professionals from Reunion Island attended the plenary sessions , participated in the ten or so workshops and met the eleven digital companies during the workshop, organized in partnership with the union of digital companies Digital Réunion .
One of the highlights of this edition was undoubtedly the Francophonies of e-Tourism with the arrival of French-speaking experts who shared their thoughts on the theme "The destination and its residents".
They thanked Reunion Island Tourism (IRT) and the Fédération Réunionnaise de Tourisme (FRT) for their support: "a big thank you and congratulations (…) for us [to have received] in the best conditions, [you] actively contributed to our work and we brought back to the concrete and the context of your beautiful island." The veterans of the Francophonies e-Tourism have all considered that it was the most successful edition in every respect. (…) the bar [is] very high for our Quebec colleagues who will receive the next edition. "
The e-Tourism Week had the honor to welcome Jean-Luc BOULIN and Ludovic DUBLANCHET who respectively played the role of coordinator of the Francophonies for the one, and master of ceremonies and coordinator of the various speakers of the Rencontres du -Tourism for the other.

Jean-Luc BOULIN
Jean-Luc BOULIN is Director of the Mission of the Tourist Offices of New Aquitaine (MONA). This structure, unique in France, brings together tourist countries and tourist offices of New Aquitaine. It is supported by the Regional Council. Two main missions are entrusted to him: the structuring of tourist territories and professionalization. In this context, MONA ensures a permanent watch on e-tourism and accompanies experiences in its network. Director of the tourist office of Entre-Deux-Mers (Gironde) and tourist country of the same name for more than ten years, Jean-Luc BOULIN has led MONA since its creation in 2003. The lack of source of information in the same place on institutional e-tourism and the need for to discuss this tremendous change in the business of tourist offices to the Internet gave the idea to Jean-Luc BOULIN to design the blog etourisme.info, with four other creators. This blog is intended to be the crucible of institutional e-tourism in all its forms. Jean-Luc BOULIN is also a teacher in Tourism Development and Management of Tourist Sites and Territories (AGEST) at the University of Bordeaux Montaigne.
