Reunion, where good food is good for tourism

REUNION WILL SHOWCASE CREOLE FOOD AT THE PARIS GASTRONOMY TOURISM SHOW

Created by Babette Rozières, renowned chef and main host of a major French television show, the second edition of the fair of Gastronomy of Overseas will take place from February 12th to 15th in Paris.

Reunion will be represented on site by the Reunion Island Tourism Board, in short IRT, and key chefs from the island ready to showcase the Creole fusion cuisine. The event is held at the Paris Event Center, located at Porte de la Villette where the second edition of the fair of Gastronomy of overseas territories will take place.

The fair is a true showcase of culinary expertise and variety from French overseas regions and a new must-visit event for foodies and gourmets. Visitors to the show will have the opportunity to taste the authentic recipes of the island of Reunion, where the gastronomy is one of the strengths of the destination.

Does Reunion’s Creole cuisine intrigue you and attract your attention?

A stand of 114 m² is dedicated to Reunion and visitors can experience the scents and flavors of the island, as spicy as mestizo, which inspire and tickle taste buds for four days of exhibition!

Visitors can carry home the delicious local produce basket available from Reunion of the House of Turmeric, Vanilla Reunion, Mascarin, Saveurs de la Fournaise, Reunion Fruits of Rums Isautier or even Rums Cocktails .

On the F77 stand, the IRT will also offer visitors a taste of the riches of the island through its gastronomy and the skills of chefs from Reunion with Master Chef of France Philippe Doki-Thonon (Roland Garros), the chef Jean-Claude Cleret (H-Catering), the caterer and chef Escoffier disciple of Marie-France Grain -Galet (The fruit of my passion), and taste the different flavors of the island at the demonstration kitchen and food tasting area.

Information is available for stand visitors about all the different ingredients from the island and how the different influences results in spectacular creations.

Promotional materials and video clips at the stand will also allow visitors to plan a trip to Reunion and discover not only the cuisine but also the beauty and diversity of its landscapes by virtual tour of the island.

The icing on the cake for fair visitors coming to the Reunion stand: Every day a gourmet basket prize will be drawn. Visitors to the stand can also try to win a trip to the island of Reunion in conjunction with Corsair.

Reunion’s refined and colourful cuisine represents the diversity of its inhabitants. Influenced by Malagasy origins but also by African, Asian and European inhabitants, it offers a wealth of flavors and unique flavors to be enjoyed throughout the year.
