Reunion Island Tourism is present at the Hiker’s Salon which is held this weekend at the International Congress Center in Lyon. This event is an opportunity to highlight hiking in all its forms as well as the many hiking and biking trails of the Reunion destination with visitors to the show.
For three days, Reunion Island Tourism and tourism professionals of Reunion (the Office of Intercommunal Tourism of the West, Rando Mafate, Nature and Volcano, Office Mountain Meeting -Accompagnateurs in the mountains-) will be available on booth B37 ” Reunion Island, the intense island “ to promote Reunion Island and market the 900 km of marked hiking trails of the island with outdoor enthusiasts keen on hiking, trekking and discovery.
The Salon du Randonneur is the ideal opportunity for the Ile de la Réunion Tourisme (IRT) and its partners to meet and exchange around a common passion: to make visitors discover the hiking trails on foot, on horseback or by bike safely, accompany them to the preparation of a next adventure and adventure stay in Reunion. An IRT sales and reservation counter is installed at the stand and allows visitors to benefit from expert advice from the Réunion destination on “hiking” holidays, tours, activities, accommodation, transportation, in the island.
Reunion Island is a paradise for hikers and a real playground full of life accessible to all through its “Pitons, circuses and ramparts” World Heritage Site by Unesco. Very recently, the GR ® R1, a Grande Randonnee route that draws a loop around the Piton des Neiges, the highest point of the island (3,071 m), has been voted the favorite trail of the French following a vote on theMonGR site.fr .

A trip for two to win on the stand “Reunion, the intense island”
Reunion tourism professionals will present the beautiful hikes one can use all year. The West Intercommunal Tourist Office (OTI West) has chosen to focus on the Mafate circus.
The IRT will offer an interactive discovery of the trails and landscapes of the island and organize a quiz . The winners will win a trip for two people in Reunion. They will have the chance to travel with the airline French Bee and to stay in the hotels the Dimitile **** , in the Entre-Deux, and the Tsilaosa **** , in Cilaos.
The Rhône Alpes region, a particularly popular destination, is also a highly active (outdoor) region, with 43.8% of the population over 15 years old practicing walking and / or hiking.
