SERVICE PROVIDERS MEET TO MAP OUT FUTURE

More than forty tourism professionals were present at the annual meeting of partner agencies of the regional reservation platform of the Reunion Island Tourism Board.
The partner agencies of the Reunion Island Regional Tourism Platform (IRT) were invited to a working day on the IRT premises in Saint-Paul. After discussions and exchanges between hosting partners and distributors, the incoming agencies were able to understand the new structures that strengthen the local tourist offer, as well as the balance of the 2016 activity and the actions to come in 2017. The results of the competition during 2016 for partner agencies were also revealed during the day.
The IRT on the day hosted over forty local tourism professionals at the annual meeting of partner agencies of the regional IRT reservation platform who were welcomed by IRT Director General Willy Ethève and François Boyer, President of the IRT Marketing Club and member of the Board of Directors, who opened the meeting. IRT Information and Marketing Director Isabelle Nativel unveiled the program for this day, which made it possible to establish an overview of the year 2016 but also a calendar of actions to be planned for 2017.

The New Structures
Twenty new establishments, including ten Gîtes de France and ten CléVacances. have opened their doors. Some of them are now available via the regional reservation platform for bookings from around the world.

The afternoon programme then was mainly for DMC’s or incoming agencies and a range of pertinent topics were discussed:
Focus on the circuits of the receptive agencies that can be booked on the IRT sites – reunion.fr and exlporelareunion.com;
The actions programmed through the Club Groupe Tourisme & Territoires in 2016 and the work areas for 2017 ;
The balance of education in 2016 (distribution by receptive agency and by market – France, Europe and Indian Ocean), the recall of the priority axes (markets and targets), the scale introduced in 2017 and the new partnerships with tour operators for 2017
Eductours: the Key Figures
In 2016, 45 eductours were organized, namely 7 multi-tour discovery trips and 37 via inbound travel agencies. There are no fewer than 450 travel agents who have been trained at Reunion.

After extensive discussions and deliberations did Isabelle Nativel and François Boyer close this intense day of work by announcing the next formal meeting of the regional reservation platform. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the platform the annual seminar will take place on Thursday 9th February 2017 in Hell-Bourg in the presence of Stéphane Villain and Véronique Brizon, the president and the national network director, Tourism and Territories, and Ariane Gallice, Commercial office of the tourist office and the congresses of Paris.
