(Posted 15th October 2014)

Getting back on Track’ is the theme of the inaugural Mombasa Hotel Show, which is due to take place in a month’ time at Wildwaters, Nyali, Mombasa.

The county government of Mombasa has offered their patronage for the event, which will showcase the latest equipment for hotels and restaurants. Energy savings are high on the agenda as reducing cost under present circumstances will be a key to the survival of many resorts and Steven Owuor, Slujan Events Managing Director, who attended last week’s Magical Kenya Travel Expo and met stakeholders at the KTB regional tourism trade workshop at the Sarova Stanley Hotel, was clear in his message to the trade: ‘The Mombasa Hotel Show is purely for the hotel and restaurant businesses to meet a wide range of suppliers of services and the latest technology items, manufactured in Kenya or imported. This will give hoteliers and restaurant owners a broad overview of what is available today. Holding the show in Mombasa will make it easier for them to attend. Exhibitors will come to showcase lighting and interior designs, operating supplies and equipment, technology and facility management and banqueting essentials and technologies and kitchen equipment. Also present will be suppliers of gourmet food items, seafood, cheese and dairy producers as well as manufacturers and importers of soft drinks, juices, wine and spirits. If you are in this line of business, you simply cannot afford to miss this inaugural event’.
