REUNION TOURISM HOSTS RN2D MEMBERS ON FAMILIARISATION TOUR
(Posted 18th December 2015)

Last week were heads of works councils and associations of members of the National Network of Departmental Group Club Destination (Rn2D) on the island of Reunion as part of a journey of discovery. For five days they were able to discover the tourist attractions across Reunion, between visiting hotel establishments, practicing some of the many leisure activities, participating in excursions and traveling through the multifaceted landscapes of Reunion from the beaches into the interior.

After participating in the first workshop organized by the Club Rn2D Group in Brussels last month, the Reunion Island Tourism Board (IRT), in collaboration with five incoming agency partners, received members of the network for an educational tour. From 08th to 12th December were five leaders of works councils and associations – Arts and Life, Keolis travel, Girardot Travel Organization, Perier Voyages and the Municipal Cultural Center of Rosny-sous-Bois – visiting the island of Reunion to discover it on land, on water and from the air.

The program of the five days famtrip for the group was giving them the opportunity to visit two hotel establishments that have opened their doors in 2015: Dina Morgabine *** and *** St. Peter. They also discovered the architecture and services provided by La Villa **** Delisle, Le Nautile ***, the Iloha Seaview Hotel & Spa ***, Le Saint Alexis **** and *** The Bellepierre *.

The recreational activities provided enabled them to fully experience the essence of Reunion, especially when setting sail with the catamaran at sunset over the Indian Ocean, while doing the hike to the Roche Merveilleuse in Cilaos, when visiting the Museum of Decorative Arts Indian Ocean (Madoi), when taking the ride in the lagoon kayak, the excursion by air to the island’s active volcano, the Piton de la Fournaise but also when doing the walk in the colorful alleys of the open market of Saint-Paul and last but not least when visiting the interior region of Salazie and the village of Hell-Bourg.

Across the year 2015 has IRT continued to bring travel agents, travel writers, bloggers and journalists of print and electronic media to the island to promote travel to Reunion, and successfully as in all likelyhood the island will see another visitor record this year as a result of relentless marketing and promotional activities
