Rodrigues International Kitesurf Festival – The Latest Updates

The Rodrigues Kitesurfing Association is pleased to announce that Jalou Langeree, three times world kitesurf champion will be the godmother of the coming edition. She will be accompanied by Catharina Edin, 2 x 3rd on the GKa Worldtour.
The Rodrigues Kitesurfing Association is pleased to announce that Louka Pitot, 4 times france champion and actually 3rd on the GKA world tour as godfather of the coming edition.
The Rodrigues Kitesurfing Association is pleased to announce that His Excellency Ambassador of the United Stated in Mauritius, Henri Jardin will be the guest of honour of the event.
Moreover, a snorkelling trail with the participation of tourists and locals will take place during the festival and will consist of planting corals in the lagoon in view of restoration. This initiative will help tourists travelling to Rodrigues compensate for their carbon footprints. This activity will be carried out with the close monitoring of Shoals Rodrigues and Sempa, two organisations engaged in the protection of the marine environment.
The Mauritian Wildlife Foundation will carry out a tree planting activity during the festival.
Three Indian professionals will also come to Rodrigues to initiate kite making with kids alongside Dario Meunier, Vice President of the Rodrigues Kitesurfing Association.
Contests for students have also been launched. It consists of a drawing and writing contest on ecology for pupils aged 6 to 11. In addition will there be a writing competition for students aged 16 to 17 under the theme “The Young Reporter for Environment”.
The winners will be announced during the launching ceremony in the presence of His Excellency Henri Jardin.
