KINSHASA TO JOIN EXPANDING RWANDAIR NETWORK
(Posted 22nd March 2019)
A regular source from Kigali has suggested that flights from Kigali to Kinshasa could commence within weeks, after a new bilateral air services agreement has been signed between the two countries.
Since the change of guard in Kinshasa have new opportunities for cooperation been explored between Rwanda and Congo DR, and the new air services agreement has paved the way for air connections to happen.
RwandAir has for years been serving Brazzaville, the capital of the Republic of Congo but not Kinshasa as the Kabila regime did not see eye to eye with their counterparts in Rwanda.
Many Congolese in fact fly with RwandAir from Kamembe after crossing the nearby land and lake border and then connect in Kigali to their final destination.
Also on the horizon for RwandAir are flights to Addis Ababa, due to launch in April and later this year flights to Guangzhou / China besides additional destinations in Africa.
