Friday the 29th of June marks the end of the annual remembrance period Rwanda observes, to honour the fallen of the 1994 Genocide and to continue stand firm in the face of continued aggression by the perpetrators to this day from their safe havens across the international border with the Congo.
RwandAir, the national airline, will dedicate this year’s remembrance to former staff of the airline who fell victim to the senseless slaughter, starting with a memorial service as the Nyanza Genocide Memorial in Kicukiro District which will commence at 09.30 hrs a.m.
This will then be followed by a special service at the RwandAir head office at the international airport in Kigali which will commence at noon on Friday and end at 16.00 hrs p.m.
All flight and ground operations will continue as usual throughout the entire day.

This correspondent, who saw the aftermath of the genocide in 1994, expresses once again his deepest sympathy to Rwanda and all Rwandans who were affected by the events between April and June that year.
