The World Travel Awards Africa & Indian Ocean Gala Ceremony 2022 was recently held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre, Nairobi where Serena Hotels emerged as winners in the below categories:
? DR Congo’s Leading Hotel 2022: Goma Serena Hotel
? Mozambique’s Leading Hotel 2022: Polana Serena Hotel
? Mozambique’s Leading Hotel Suite 2022: Presidential Suite at Polana Serena Hotel
? Rwanda’s Leading City Hotel 2022: Kigali Serena Hotel
? Uganda’s Leading Hotel 2022: Kampala Serena Hotel
? Uganda’s Leading Hotel Suite 2022: Royal Suite at Kampala Serena Hotel
The Kampala Serena Hotel, like before, was awarded two trophies, as Uganda’s leading hotel and for Uganda’s leading hotel suite.
Also two awards went to the Polana Serena Hotel in Maputo, which like the Kampala Serena was handed the award for leading Hotel in Mozambique and also for Mozambique’s leading hotel suite.
The relatively new Goma Serena Hotel was named as Congo’s leading hotel and the Kigali Serena Hotel was named as Rwanda’s leading hotel.
The 29th annual World Travel Awards is globally recognized as one of the leading honors programs in
travel and tourism, and an award earned is a notable industry accolade. The awards are given to the most
voted participant in their respective segments with voters being made up of travel professionals, media,
and product consumers worldwide.
Serena Africa continues to curate and create unique, one-of-a-kind signature experiences at its properties
within the seven African countries where the leading African hospitality brand has presence.
The company expressed their gratitude to their patrons for voting in its favorite Serena properties as winners and are delighted that their latest property (opened in September 2020), Goma Serena Hotel also received this prestigious award.
