RWANDA’S ‘THE SERVICEMAG’ GOES TO BURUNDI AS FIRST STEP INTO THE REGION
(Posted 21st March 2014)
Come 25th of March will ‘The ServiceMag’ celebrate its fourth year in existence, during which it grew from strength to strength in launch market Rwanda, not something which can in this day and age be automatically assumed. 16 issues were published, or four a year, and the magazine now produces some 6.000 free copies, which are distributed to hotels and other businesses but also carried by national airline RwandAir as additional inflight reading material, besides their own Inzozi magazine. Publisher Sandra Idossou, ahead of the launch next week in Bujumbura, Burundi’s capital city, had this to say, capturing the essence of her vision and her challenges in just a few words: ‘Service delivery is not just a Rwandan challenge, it is a regional challenge. We are taking on that challenge one step at a time, and are excited about educating providers and clients in Burundi too’.
Past issues focused extensively on educative and informative issues about improving service delivery; educating service providers on the need to improve customer service and creating awareness among clients to demand for the service they deserve. The ServiceMag also showcases the successes and innovations that drive the business environment in Rwanda to inspire future economic growth.
Additionally has the ServiceMag launched annual surveys across its readership to establish who exactly delivers the best service in the hospitality, insurance and banking industry, not leaving out public service of course and a whole range of other sectors covering the entire economy comprehensively, including the transport sector.
The entry into the Burundian market is according to information received from Kigali the first step to take the magazine regional across the East African Community. The publishers did confirm that a further 1.000 copies will be added to the quarterly print edition to cater for the Burundi market and ahead of the launch was it learned that there is already a buzz among Burundi’s business circles that finally a quality magazine will arrive which they can, in part at least, call their own.
The magazine is available on line, where according to Sandra Idossou some 100.000 readers visit the site to read the quarterly magazine: www.theservicemag.com
All the best to Sandra and her team for the launch and success in conquering not just the Burundi market but eventually become a truly regional magazine focusing on quality service delivery.
