Information from Victoria, the capital of the Seychelles, talks about a new aviation deal which was signed earlier this week between the Czech Republic and the archipelago’s government.
Minister Joel Morgan, Minister for Transport and Foreign Affairs, and the Czech Ambassador H.E. Karel Hejc signed the documents, which, in order to become effective, must now be ratified by the two countries’ parliaments.
Minister Morgan, who is also the Chairman of the Board of national airline Air Seychelles, did express his hope and desire that the airlines of both countries should work towards offering direct flights or else engage in code share arrangements under which one airline would operate the service with the other one booking passengers on it.
Last year, a record breaking year for the Seychelles in tourism arrivals, did more than 2.250 travelers from the Czech Republic visit the Seychelles while for the first five months of 2016 over 1.200 travelers have entered the archipelago for a vacation.
