RESORT CERTIFICATION IN THE SEYCHELLES ALLOWS TWO MORE PROPERTIES TO REOPEN
(Posted 19th June 2020)
Following earlier reports that the resort on Cousine Island had been certified under #COVID19 guidelines, are now two additional resorts ready to open for guests.
The Seychelles government has continued the certification process and information was received earlier today that both North Island – a playground for the rich and famous, captains of industry and the who is who in Hollywood – has received certification alongside the Fregate Island private resort.
Both of them regularly receive guests who come to the Seychelles in their own private jets or chartered jets and then use the local ZIL Air helicopter services to fly from the international airport directly to their resorts.
Fregate Island is located about 55 kilometres east of the Seychelles’ main island of Mahe and it was learned that the resort will be operating with a capacity of 28 guests.
North Island is part of the inner islands of the Seychelles and only features eleven private villas.
As required by the new #COVID19 regulations will a minimum distance of 1.5 metres be kept between tables in the restaurant.
Both resorts, according to a source in Victoria, will limit guest interaction to a bare minimum and offer in villa dining so guests do not need to leave their private villas for the main restaurants.
It is also understood from the same source that additional certifications are underway as hotels and resorts are keenly participating in the process, especially those with a clientele flying to the islands on private jets and charters.
