MINISTER LEADS SEYCHELLES DELEGATION TO WTM

The Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine, Mr. Alain St Ange in the presence of the High Commissioner for the Republic of Seychelles based in London, Her Excellency Mrs. Marie Pierre Lloyd were present yesterday morning on the Seychelles stand in Excel, London for the opening of the World Travel Market, London along with a large Seychelles delegation
World Travel Market 2016 is being held from the 07-10th November and the Seychelles has its own destination stand covering a space of 100 sqm.
Various companies including the national airline Air Seychelles, hotel companies and DMC’s are present on the Seychelles stand this year.
The delegation is headed by the Minister of Tourism Mr. Alain St Ange and the CEO of STB Mrs. Sherin Francis and participants comprise of the following companies and participants: 7Degrees South – Mrs Anna Butler Payette, Creole Travel Services – Mr Guillaume Albert and Ms Blaisila Hoffman, Masons Travel – Mr Lenny Alvis, Air Seychelles – Mr Carlos Antunes and Mrs Christine Ozouf, Coral Strand Smart Hotel and Savoy Seychelles Resort and Spa – Mr Denis Verkhoruvov, Mr Ravil Zaripov and Mrs Katerina Ferguson, Coco De Mer Hotel & Black Parrot Suites – Mr Ash Behari, Berjaya Hotels Seychelles – Ms Wendy Tan, Hilton Seychelles – Mrs Devi Pentamah & Ms Britta Krug, Kempinski Seychelles Resort and Spa – Mr Simone Berti, Eden Bleu – Mr Manuel Policarpo and Ms Celia Ponzo, Raffles Praslin – Mr Joerg Roterberg.
The Seychelles Tourism Board delegation includes the Minister of Tourism Mr. Alain St Ange, the STB CEO Mrs. Sherin Francis, the Regional Director Europe Ms. Bernadette Willemin, the Seychelles Tourism Board Manager – UK & Ireland Ms. Tinaz Wadia, the Seychelles Tourism Board Marketing Executive UK and Ireland Ms. Eloise Vidot, the Senior Marketing Executive STB head office Ms. Stephanie Lablache and the Manager Emarketing at the STB head office Mr. Vahid Jacob.

During WTM, the Minister for Tourism Mr. Alain St Ange will be attending some high profile events such as the UNWTO and WTM Ministers summit discussing seamless and safer travel, The PATA Aligned Advocacy Dinner which has been organised annually on the first night of WTM since 2012 where its first dinner held in the UK Parliament, the House of Commons. Following its first four memorable and impactful events, the 5th PATA Aligned Advocacy Dinner London 2016 will be held at the spectacular "Clothworkers’ Hall", a unique venue in the heart of the City of London. A dinner hosted by CNN on the 08th November and a an event hosted by the BBC on the 09th November 2016
Now in its 37th year, the event generates more than £ 2.5 billion worth of travel industry contracts.
There has been a gradual and promising increase of figures to the Seychelles from the UK over the past few years with the market in 2016 experiencing a 14% increase compared to same time last year.
