The Seychelles Maritime Safety Authority has issued an urgent warning to the seafaring fraternity that, due to the present calm weather, an increase in pricacy activity originating from Somalia has been noticed.

The above written warning was widely distributed, and while the Seychelles Coast Guard is working around the clock to keep Seychellois waters safe are boat owners from the Seychelles and beyond – especially those traversing Seychelles waters – urged to stay alert 24/7 and report any suspicious sightings immediately through the regular communication channels and emergency channels.

ATCNews has in the past reported about the challenges but also the successes of the Seychelles Coast Guard and articles can be found via https://atcnews.org/?s=Piracy
