STA COMMENCES OPERATIONS AGAIN TODAY AFTER #COVID19 CLOSURE

The Seychelles Tourism Academy, the Indian Ocean’s leading tourism and hospitality training academy, has announced their schedule of phased reopening, which is beginning today.
The arrival of Corona Virus cases had led to the country literally going into shutdown but with all but one of the initial 11 cases now reported recovered, is the reopening going underway.
Academy sources have made the reopening schedule available as follows:
Wednesday May 13, 2020
The following learners will report to STA as per normal schedule:
- Advanced Certificate year 1 and year 2 learners in group A. This constitutes half of the normal class size.
- Apprenticeship year 2 while all Apprenticeship year 1 will stay home.
- ADHM year 1 students while all ADHM year 3 will stay home
Thursday May 14, 2020
The following learners will report to the STA as per normal schedule:
- Advanced Certificate year 1 and year 2 learners in group B. This constitutes half of the normal class size.
- Apprenticeship year 1 while all Apprenticeship year 2 will stay home.
- ADHM year 3 students while all ADHM year 1 will stay home.
Week of Monday May 18, 2020
Teaching resumes subject to approval of required bodies. The following learners will report to the STA as per normal schedule:
- Advanced Certificate year 1 and year 2 learners in group A. This constitutes half of the normal class size.
- Apprenticeship year 2 and Apprenticeship year 1 will report in groups on selected days.
- ADHM year 1 and year 3 will complete tasks at home.
Week of Monday May 25, 2020
Teaching continues. The following learners will report to the STA as per normal schedule:
- Advanced Certificate year 1 and year 2 learners in group B. This constitutes half of the normal class size.
- Apprenticeship year 2 and Apprenticeship year 1 will report in groups on selected days.
- ADHM years 1 and 3 on alternate days as per new timetable.
Additional Information:
- SPTC bus timing for STA and pick up points remain per previous schedule.
- Practical sessions will not include members of the public as outside guests for the moment.
- Communication is being done directly to students through their heads of departments.
- Advanced Certificate Year 1 and Year 2 learners in Group B. This constitutes half of the normal class size.
- Apprenticeship Year 2 and Apprenticeship Year 1 report in groups on selected days.
- ADHM Year 1 and 3 on alternate days as per new timetable.
