Seychelles Tourism gets new Board of Directors

PRESIDENT MICHEL APPOINTS NEW DIRECTORS FOR SEYCHELLES TOURISM BOARD

President James Alix Michel has appointed a new Board of Directors to oversee and guide the operations of the Seychelles Tourism Board. New Chairperson is, effective 25th of August, Miss Wendy Pierre, who is currently the Registrar General in the Seychelles after previously serving as CEO of the Financial Services Agency.

Other members are Mr. David Savy, former CEO of Air Seychelles and current Chairperson of the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority and the Chairperson of the Seychelles Hospitality and Tourism Association Mr. Freddy Karkaria. They join Mr. Patrick Payet, Mr. Christoph Ganster, Mr. Paul Hodoul and Mr. John Stravens.

The seven are now tasked to steer STB, after years of constant success, to yet greater heights as the organization continues to adjust to changing market conditions and opens up more new and emerging markets for visitors to the islands. While national airline Air Seychelles has in recent days announced new destinations, namely Dar es Salaam and Antananarivo will Emirates soon add two more frequencies to fly twice a day, every day from Dubai to Mahe, providing seats which now need to be filled with tourist and trade visitors from around the world.

Seychelles has been on a marketing juggernaut for the past 6 years and developed new attractions beyond sun, sea and sand with a range of ethnic and cultural festivals with the most recent one the inaugural Praslin Culinary and Arts Fiesta which is being followed by the Festival Kreol in October and SUBIOS, the Festival of the Sea, in November. Congratulations are extended to the new board members and chairperson.
