Six weeks to go until Air Seychelles resumes Paris flights

AIR SEYCHELLES SET FOR PARIS RETURN

(Posted 15th May 2014)

Tickets are now on sale for the return of Air Seychelles to Paris, a destination the airline previously served as many as 6 times a week before undergoing restructuring over the past three years.

The new destination will be served with an Airbus A330 in a two class configuration of 18 flat bed business class seats and 236 seats in economy. The flight will route via Abu Dhabi, from where the service will be codeshared with partner Etihad and the service will initially operate twice a week every Tuesday and Thursday, returning to Mahe the following day.

The recently re-appointed Chairman of the Board of Air Seychelles Joel Morgan, who is also the Minister for Home Affairs and Transport, made the announcement yesterday in Victoria and said on the occasion: ‘I am delighted the French Civil Aviation Authorities have granted approval for our flights to Paris, which build on the already strong ties between our two countries. Air Seychelles’ return to Paris has been a key target of our long-term business strategy, and thanks to our equity partner, Etihad Airways, we have been able to launch the flights faster than may have been achieved otherwise. I am pleased that we have been able to respond to the demands for links to Paris from stakeholders and tourism partners, locally and overseas’.

Flights will commence on 02nd of July and the remaining time will now be used to canvas support from French tour operators and travel agents to use the direct flight to send more tourists to the archipelago. France is presently the Seychelles’ leading source country for visitors, prompting the return of HM to Paris.
