ANOTHER PRIVATE AIRLINE LAUNCHED IN KENYA AS SKYAERO OPERATES MAIDEN FLIGHT
(Posted 24th May 2014)
Kenya’s latest privately owned airline, SkyAero, has taken to the skies yesterday with their maiden flight from Nairobi to Kisumu. The airline will charge Kenya Shillings 5.400/ for a one way ticket, all taxes and regulatory fees included, more expensive than the cheapest tickets on Jambojet but cheaper than their ticket prices when booked either at short notice or on the day of travel.
The new airline will besides Kisumu also serve Mombasa, with the maiden flight planned for the 30th of May and is using a DC 9 aircraft in a single class configuration.
Both Kisumu and Mombasa are presently served from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by Kenya Airways, Jambojet, Fly540 and now SkyAero, the latest entrant into a once again crowded aviation market, where passengers are spoilt for choice over both price and service levels depending on which airline they choose to fly with.
