South Sudan changes time

SOUTH SUDAN MOVES FROM UTC +3 TO UTC +2

(Posted 01st February 2021)

Effective 01st of February 2021 has the Republic of South Sudan moved from their past time zone of UTC +3 to a new time zone of UTC +2.
This aligns South Sudan with Rwanda, the Congo DR and other Southern African countries like Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and South Africa.
No additional information was given by the South Sudan government for the move and while ‘official’ South Sudan has implemented the new time zone, most importantly for air traffic, does it remain to be seen how the rest of the country, especially the rural areas, will adapt to the change.
