St Helena Airport is pleased to announce that full air operations can now resume. The first scheduled flights will commence on 17 February

SHG has announced that on 15th of February, St Helena Airport has regained Category 6 accreditation for its firefighting capabilities and full operations can now resume. This is down to the incredible hard work and long hours put in by the mechanics at the airport, supported by specialist engineers from Marcé.

Full commissioning tests have been undertaken with tender R1, which will be supported by R3 and St Helena Fire and Rescue Service. The results have been accepted by the independent regulator, ASSI.

Repairs to R2 will continue, but do not affect accreditation. We continue to look at longer term replacement options, with the support of FCDO, to ensure better resilience.

Meanwhile has Airlink also advised that St Helena Airport has regained Category 6 accreditation for its firefighting capabilities following extensive repairs and successful commissioning tests, accepted by the independent regulator, ASSI.
They are working closely with the airport authorities to restart scheduled services to and from St Helena Island, with the first flight planned for tomorrow, Tuesday, 17 February, subject to favourable weather conditions.
Please note that the airline will not sell tickets for the flights on 17th or 21st of February. Customers who are already booked on these specific flights should travel as normal. Remaining seats will be prioritised for repatriation and allocated based on length of delay.
Solomons will contact affected customers directly. We kindly ask that customers do not contact Airlink or the airport regarding these allocations.
Bookings for Tuesday, 24th of February and beyond will reopen in due course.

Your comments are welcome and will receive a response in due course.
