Sudanese Lawyer Sentenced in Uganda for Attempting to Smuggle 436 Ivory Pieces

Kampala – A Ugandan court has sentenced Sudanese national Ahmad Abdelmonim Altigani Ahmed to a fine of UGX?140 million (approximately USD?37,000) or five years in prison for attempting to smuggle 436 pieces of elephant ivory through Entebbe International Airport. ChimpReports understands the ivory was disguised as wood samples.
