| Dear Green Tourism Summit Africa Participants and Dear ATC Readers,
We are happy to share with you this report of the Mazingira Innovation Awards 2017 that focused on waste management practices of lodges and camps in the Mara. The Awards were held on the 3rd day of the Green Tourism Summit Africa 2017 themed "Sustainable Tourism and The Sustainable Development Goals; New Challenge or Opportunity? The summit was held on the 13th to the 15th of June 2017 at the Park Inn by Radisson.
Contained in the report is a summary of the findings of the waste management survey that was done in partnership with WWF-Kenya. The survey helped in identifying waste management practices by lodges and camps in the Mara and also helped in selecting and shortlisting participants for the award.
We would like to congratulate the award winners for their best efforts in proper waste management and and thank all the accommodation facilities that participated in the survey.
