Sun Africa Hotels wins big at World Luxury Hotel Awards

THREE MAJOR AWARDS FOR SUN AFRICA HOTELS AT WORLD LUXURY HOTEL AWARD CEREMONY IN QATAR

Kenya based Sun Africa Hotels has won three major awards at the just ended World Luxury Hotel Awards gala night held in Doha / Qatar.
Named again as Best Hotel Management Company in Africa did Sun Africa also scoop awards for their Sun Africa Beach Resort in Nyali / Mombasa, the Kiboko Luxury Tented Camp at Lake Naivasha and their Sovereign Suites in the Limuru Hills outside the Kenyan capital Nairobi.

Keekorok Safari Lodge, a past winner, took a break this year as the property underwent major refurbishment and room upgrades which mirrors work done over the past years at the Lake Naivasha Country Club. The multi million US Dollar upgrade ensures that Keekorok Safari Lodge, the oldest such lodge in the Masai Mara and arguably in Kenya, remains at the cutting edge and stays competitive in the face of new properties which came on the market in the more recent past.

It was also learned while in Kenya that the hotel group has now committed to rebuild the Lake Baringo Club, which like all other lake side lodges and tented camps fell victim to rising lake water levels.
The new location, on the same sprawling property, will be closer to the main road to ensure a safety zone between shore and lodge. From the previous 48 rooms however will the rebuild Lake Baringo Club reduce in size to just 24 state of the art bedrooms and suites, once again opening up the area which is one of Kenya’s best bird watching grounds.
