The Tanzania Tourism Board is now being headed by a new Executive Director, the first substantive one since the pandemic year 2021, after Damasi Mfugale has been appointed by government.
Damasi is arguably the first such appointee with deep private sector roots, having headed the Hotel Association of Tanzania as Chairman between 2004 to 2014 and since then service as a Board Member, but also being involved in the hospitality industry through his company Peacock Hotels.
