Tanzanian airline opens Nairobi booking office

TANZANIA’S AURIC AIR OPENS NAIROBI OFFICE

(Posted 14th July 2014)

Auric Air, one of Tanzania’ leading light aircraft operators with scheduled flights from their three hubs in Dar es Salaam, Arusha and Mwanza to overall 21 destinations across East Africa’s largest country and charter flights to another 10 destinations, has yesterday announced the opening of a booking office in Nairobi. The office in Nairobi is embedded at Just Like That Ltd and now allows clients to book and pay with ease before they go to Tanzania for either their safaris or on business.

Operating a uniform fleet of 9 Cessna Grand Caravan C208B’s, the latest brand new aircraft delivered earlier this year, can Auric reach remote areas of the country where often only rough short airstrips serve as landing grounds. For that purpose, as Auric pointed out, are all aircraft equipped with a STOL kit, allowing for the already impressive takeoff and landing performance to be improved by a further 20 percent reduction of the takeoff roll. All aircraft are also equipped with safety equipment normally only installed in much larger aircraft like TCAS, EGPWS and Indigo Sat. All of the birds also have an ex-factory improved APE 3 capability which lifts the maximum takeoff weight to over 9.000 pounds.

The airline is BARS certified, the equivalent for small airlines of the IOSA certification in place for IATA members.

Just Like That Director of Marketing Sanjeev Sharma said he was looking forward to engaging with the business community in Nairobi, with travel agents and safari operators to bring Auric’s range of services closer to them although direct bookings and bookings via Auric’s website www.auricair.com continue to be available.
