#Tanzania’s Auric Air loses unblemished record

AT LEAST TWO KILLED IN AURIC AIR SERENGETI ACCIDENT

A Cessna Grand Caravan, registered in Tanzania as 5H-AAM and owned and operated by Auric Air, crashed earlier today only moments after taking off from the Seronera airstrip in the heart of the Serengeti, killing both pilot and one passenger on board.
The aircraft’s serial number was given as 208B5728 and the aircraft had a current certificate of air worthiness valid until the 18th October 2019 according to TCAA information in the public domain.
The aircraft was destined to fly from the Serengeti to the Arusha Municipal field.
This is the first ever crash of Auric Air which only recently got recertified under the BARS Gold Certification Standards of the Flight Safety Foundation.

The weather was reportedly fine and an air accident investigation is now going underway to determine the cause of the crash.
