Following our previous communication on April 16th 2025, regarding the temporary closure of Tarime Aerodrome for maintenance works, we foresee a situation where the airstrip might not re-open on June 1st 2025 due to continued heavy rains in the area.
As a result, we will be contacting passengers on the Migori-Tarime route to offer re-routing options via our Kilimanjaro service, connecting onward with our subsidiary Regional Air and other interline partners in Tanzania. This re-routing option via Kilimanjaro will be offered for the month of June, or until the Tarime aerodrome is declared operational. Please note that the arrival and departure times will be different from the direct Migori and Tarime times.
The above solution will be at no additional cost and AirKenya will absorb the fare difference for all ticketed bookings.
