ACHOLA ROSARIO TRAVELS TO MALINDI, WATAMU AND VIPINGO FOR NEW FEATURES
(Posted 24th July 2020)
This week did the F.O.M.O. Travel Show Africa visit the beaches of Malindi and Watamu, before paying a visit to the one and only PGA rated golf course in the wider Eastern African region – Vipingo Ridge – to give readers and viewers of the show an insight of what is going on at the coast, as resorts are reopening again following the resumption of domestic flights.
In Malindi did the F.O.M.O. Travel Show check out the famous Driftwood Club, as it reopened its doors on the 17th of July. The resort, regularly described as Kenya’s best barefeet resort, has during the closing period undergone extensive remodelling and refurbishments and is now open again for guests.
Host Roger Sylvester is looking forward to welcoming both old and new visitors in the coming months.

While in Malindi did the F.O.M.O. Travel Show also pop in at Neem House, located just a few minutes walk from the Driftwood Club and about 5 minutes from the beach, to capture impressions of what guests keen on self catering and having just one family under the one roof, is like. The house is also ideal for a group of friends or a couple on honeymoon, wishing for something special and secluded – and yes, a cook is on site and available to conjure up great seafood meals.

Achola Rosario then moved on to Watamu to check out the only 5 star ranked property north of Mombasa, the Medina Palms Resort & Spa.
The resort, located along one of Kenya’s best white sand beaches, has gained fame for its cuisine and hospitality, ably managed by Max Cheli since its opening.

And before flying back to Nairobi on the Safarilink service out of Vipingo, which is served daily out of Wilson Airport in combination with Ukunda, did she sample the Vipingo Ridge accommodation and meals, besides having a look at the golf course and other facilities on offer for guests staying there.

Achola is returning from the coast with Safarilink and will document the bush check in, some of the ‘New Normal‘ health and safety features and then concluding with scenes from the enhanced check in procedures at the Safarilink terminal from where travelers now board.
