ISSUE 10 – OCTOBER 2017

As our magazine cover clearly shows, October is a month for celebration as the provincial award winners of South Africa’s Lilizela Tourism Awards wait to find who will take the coveted National Award titles in each tourism category at the gala ceremony, which will be convened at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg on 29 October 2017, and organised by South African Tourism. I wish all the provincial nominees the best of luck and look forward to featuring all the National Lilizlea Tourism Award winners in the November edition.

I’m proud to announce that TourismTattler has joined the long-awaited dotAfrica (.africa) generic top-level domain (gTLD), as a media partner. This gTLD became available for businesses and the general public to register domains on 04 July 2017. To mark this auspicious occasion, a ‘Follow The Flag’ (#FollowTheFlag)roadshow is being planned to raise awareness of the .africa domain name.

The roadshow journey will kick-off in Benin on 21 November, and journey through Rwanda, Tunisia, DRC, and Botswana. The .africa team and its brand ambassadors will also embark on a two-week long trek to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania to plant the .africa flag.

The .africa Team who will embark on this journey need the assistance of accommodation and transport service providers in the countries through which they will be travelling, as well as sponsors to fund logistics, including fuel for the journey. All sponsors and hosts will receive acknowledgement and significant media exposure for their support, and each will also be given free registration of a .africa domain name of their choice.

I appeal to readers to sarah-jane or call +27 (0)82 452 5327.

As usual, just click on the images below to read the October magazine content online. If you prefer to read a hard copy of the magazine, Peecho can print a copy in the Netherlands and courier it to your door.

Happy Reading!
