| The rains arrived like a long deferred blessing, falling from the sky with all the weight of a promise finally being kept. In Bulilima District, in Zimbabwe’s Matabeleland South Province, a landscape more accustomed to cracked earth than pooled water, the 2025/2026 farming season began with a rare and cautious optimism. When the clouds finally opened in earnest, many believed fate had shifted. Just as the waters began to recede, another menace appeared from the edges of the land. Elephants. |
