The official travel trade journal of Africa’s premium tourism trade associations NEWSLETTER ISSUE 05 – MAY 2016 Our May edition front cover features a pair of young Cheetah at Inkwenkwezi Game Reserve, near East London in South Africa’s Eastern Cape province. (Inkwenkwezi means ‘Star’ in isiXhosa). This pair of males and a female were rescued as cubs from a Game Reserve near Port Elizabeth after their mother was killed, and Inkwenkwezi volunteered to adopt them. The cubs were hand reared, and are kept inside an expansive enclosure where guests are able to interact with them under close caretaker supervison. Although the cheetah have been habituated to human interaction, the intention is to release them into the 4000 hectare reserve.
