Zambia’s President Edgar Lungu has ordered the re-opening of the Victoria Falls to the public on 13 May 2020. The Zambian side of the famous Victoria Falls was closed since 01 April 2020 due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Zambia’s head of state directed that the UNESCO World Heritage Site should reopen under the new normal and urged all visitors to follow health guidelines of wearing masks and practising social distancing. According to President Lungu his decision to re-open the Victoria Falls was based on the City of Livingstone not recording any cases of the coronavirus. The Victoria Falls, which is located on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe on the Zambezi River, is one of Seven Wonders of the World and one of Zambia’s most visited tourist destinations.
