South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa announced in a national address on the national effort to contain the Covid-19 pandemic on 28 February 2021 that South Africa will move from Level 3 to Level 1 of the country’s Risk Adjusted Strategy. The new alert level has come into effect on 28 February 2021.
