NEW TERMINAL ‘NAMES’ BECOME EFFECTIVE TODAY IN NAIROBI
(Posted 01st July 2014)
Effective today have the terminal names at Kenya’s main airport Jomo Kenyatta International changed to take into account changes coming up when the new terminal buildings come on line.
The new Terminal 4 will now be called Terminal 1A, with former Units 1 and 2 being renamed into Terminal 1B and 1C. The domestic terminal, formerly known as Unit 3 will from today be called Terminal 1D.
The temporary arrival hall in the parking garage, established after the August 2013 fire which completely destroyed the main arrivals hall, will from today be known as Terminal 1E.
Kenya Airways yesterday informed all their clients via social media and public announcements and other airlines, and the Kenya Airport Authority, also played their part in making the new terminal line up and descriptions known. Staff at JKIA are on extra alert to assist regular passengers who may find it difficult to follow the new line up but no problems are expected, like passenger missing flights, as even taxi drivers and airport reps of Kenya’s DMC’s were all informed well in advance to take their passengers to the correct location.
