AIR ZIMBABWE SET TO RE-LAUNCH DAR ES SALAAM ROUTE
(Posted 17th May 2016)
Come 04th of June will Air Zimbabwe return to Tanzania’s commercial capital of Dar es Salaam, joining Fastjet on the route which has seen significant passenger growth again in the recent past.
Flight UM438/9 will operate every Tuesday and Saturday using the airline’s Boeing B737-200 for the service and fares, according to a source in Harare, will start as low as US Dollars 270 return, all taxes included.
As an additional start up incentive has Air Zimbabwe also advertised that for every group of 5 travelling together one free ticket will be given for the trip. (Terms and conditions apply)
This follows soon after the announcement was made by the airline that Air Zimbabwe intends to return to the London route as a result of growing demand for nonstop flights, after British Airways some time ago already ditched Harare along with Lusaka, Dar es Salaam and Entebbe in a revised strategy concentrating only on major African airports.
It is understood that Air Zimbabwe will work with local travel and tour agents to also promote add on flights from Harare to Victoria Falls, opening up Zimbabwe’s most visible tourism attraction to travelers from Tanzania who want to take time out to see the falls after doing their business in the Zimbabwean capital.
In a related development will Air Zimbabwe be the host airline for the 2016 edition of the AFRAA Annual General Assembly, confirmed recently by none other than CEO Edmund Makona at the sidelines of the AFRAA Aviation Stakeholder Convention in Kigali / Rwanda.
