Lake Mburo Community Tourism Association (LMCTA)
Community Tourism Enterprises around Lake Mburo National Park have laid a collective support and survival strategy in order
to enhance community benefit from tourism around the protected area.
The enterprises have formed an association and have developed the Association Constitution to guide their advancement. Despite the fact that the number of tourists visiting the community enterprises is still low, the community is very optimistic given the growing demand trend towards community experience globally. Workshop on constraints faced by Tourism Sector
Uganda Investment Authority held a breakfast meeting on 6thof February this year at hotel Africana. UCOTA, one of the key stakeholders in the industry and an umbrella body for community tourism enterprises in the country was among others that attended the meeting. Other participants included public and private sector including ministry and her team, tour operators, hotel owners, tourism colleges, statehouse and media houses. Read More……

Barlonyo – Ten Years later, is there Hope after the Massacres?
Before the war, the people of Barlonyo had lived a normal life in their village but as the conflicts heightened in Northern Uganda, Barlonyo village was identified a refuge camp for Internally Displaced Persons, (IDPs). This refuge place later changed after IDP and the residents of Barlonyo came face to face with death; those who escaped death were forced to look for another safe place of refuge. Read more….
