REPATRIATION FLIGHT TO GO UNDERWAY TODAY FROM NAIROBI TO ENTEBBE

Uganda Airlines will this evening operate another repatriation flight, this time from Nairobi to Entebbe.
The timing given, according to the airline, will be 21.00 hrs or 9pm, leaving Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and expected to land in Entebbe about an hour later.
Strict health and safety protocols have been put into place, also seen during the last three repatriation flights and upon arrival will all passengers on board, and the crew, be subject to additional health checks.
It is expected that all passengers will have to undergo a 14 day quarantine at a designated facility – at their own expense – before being able to rejoin their families.
The airline, according to a usually well informed source, is planning additional repatriation flights while otherwise remaining grounded after the Ugandan government refused demands to reopen the airport to international scheduled passenger flights.
Local aviation, tourism and hospitality sources have described this position as irrational given that all airports in the wider region, from Addis Ababa to Nairobi, Mombasa to Kigali, Bujumbura to Juba and Kilimanjaro over Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar are open for business – and in the case of Addis Ababa never stopped from operating.
All neighbouring countries have over the past weeks put the latest ICAO health and safety protocols into place for safe operations and also incorporated IATA and WHO recommendations into their updates SOP’s, short for standard operating procedures, leaving Uganda out in the aviation cold.
