Uganda’s tourism industry woke up to news that their Minister for Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, Prof. Ephraim Kamuntu – who shifts to the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs – made way for Hon. Tom Butime.
Hon. Butime is the member of parliament for Mwenge County Central, Kyenjojo District and was previously serving as Minister for Local Government but also held other cabinet positions in the past. Hon. Butime (Colonel Rtd.) is a veteran of the liberation war of 1981 to 1986 and has a long history of political appointments in the Uganda government.
ATCNews thanks Prof. Kamuntu – who served as this correspondent’s Vice Chair at the Rhino Fund Uganda for some time – for his cooperation and positive engagement over the years when serving at the helm of the tourism ministry and takes the opportunity to warmly welcome Hon. Butime to his new appointment.
