Registration is now open for the inaugural edition of the Uganda Wildlife Marathon, aka #UGWildlifeMarathon, which will be staged on the 25th of February.
This will coincide with the final day of the Pearl of Africa Travel Expo #POATE2018, organized by the Uganda Tourism Board and the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities.
The event will feature three races, a half marathon of 21 kilometres, a 10 kilometre run and finally a five kilometre run. Registration fees are 10.000 Uganda Shillings for kids – equivalent to about 3 US Dollars – while adults will pay 20.000 Uganda Shillings – equivalent to about 6 US Dollars.
Teams will enter at a cost of half a million Uganda Shillings while Corporate participants have to pay a cool million Uganda Shillings, all of course in support of the country’s wildlife.
The major objective of the fundraising will be to save Uganda’s big cats. More details will be published here over the coming weeks ahead of the race.
