Ahead of the launch of flights between Entebbe and Mumbai in October – Uganda Airlines will be the only carrier on the route flying directly between the two airports – has the airline pulled out all stops to promote traffic.

The route will be served with Uganda Airline’s Airbus A330-800Neo, which is configured in a three class layout of Business, Premium Economy and Economy. The aircraft is also capable of uplifting a significant amount of palletised cargo in each direction.

Earlier today was the Uganda India Business Forum held at the Serena Hotel Conference Centre, bringing together the business community from both India and Uganda to hear from each other what mutual benefits increased trade can bring.

Speaking at the event was the airline’s CEO Jenifer Bamuturaki, who is currently also the President of the African Airline Association.

Other key speakers were the Indian High Commissioner and the Minister for Works and Transport, General Edward Katumba Wamala. Also ‘on board’ was UNDP, the United Nations Development Programme, which sees the promotion of travel and trade between India and Uganda as a matter of utmost importance.

The airline’s outstations are for some time already aggressively selling the new destinations for travelers ready to fly via Entebbe and are also in the starting blocks to do the same for the upcoming new destination of Guangzhou / China, due to launch before the end of the year.
