When ATCNews broke the news in early April, that Uganda Airlines was eyeing the wetlease of an Airbus A320Ceo, many questions were asked and in fact the usual suspects once again suggested that the story was an invention.
ATCNews is today happy to confirm that indeed an A320Ceo (Classic Engine Option) has entered the Uganda Airlines fleet and is due, for at least 6 months, to operate on the African routes for Uganda’s national carrier.
Presently are the Mitsubishi, formerly Bombardier, CRJ900’s of the airline undergoing heavy maintenance – one after the other, not all at once of course – and the A320 will cover for those aircraft when taken out of service.
The aircraft is offering a two-class cabin layout, featuring 12 business class and 148 economy seats and has been procured from Global Airlines.
