#UgandaAirlines reveals three cabin layout of their new Airbus A330-800Neo

UGANDA AIRLINES WILL OFFER PASSENGERS A STATE OF THE ART BUSINESS CLASS PLUS A SEPARATE PREMIUM ECONOMY CABIN

(Posted 09th November 2020)

With just over a month to go before the first ever delivery of an Airbus A330-800Neo to none other than Uganda Airlines – the carrier becomes African launch customer – are more details about the cabin configuration and cabin comfort becoming available.

Uganda Airlines will offer passengers besides the regular 210 seat economy cabin – configured in a 2 x 4 x 2 layout – a separate Premium Economy cabin – this one configured 2 x 3 x 2 with 28 wider seats, providing greater pitch and more legroom.

The 20 seat business class cabin offers state of the art seats, configured in a 1 x 2 x 1 cabin layout which guarantees the ultimate space experience while ensuring privacy during the entire flight.

This brings the overall seat capacity of the aircraft to 258 with an added cargo capacity of 10 tons of palletised goods.
The range of 8.150 nautical miles or nearly 15.100 kilometres is superior to the larger sistership, the A330-900Neo.
The overall length of the -800Neo is 58.82 metres long, 17.39 metres high and the wingspan reaches 64 meters.
The maximum take off weight of this aircraft type is reported as 251 tons when fully loaded with fuel, passengers and cargo.
Fuel efficiency is amongst the best in the wide body market as a result of more economical engines and a vastly improved wing design.
While the list price stands at just under 260 million US Dollars has Uganda Airlines gotten a much better deal, after ordering two of this aircraft type in what has become a slow market for aircraft manufacturers as a result of the global Corona pandemic.

Uganda Airlines is currently preparing for the delivery of the first of their two ordered Airbus A330-800Neo, due before mid December and intends to launch long haul operations in the early part of Q1 of 2021.

Destinations have been named as London, Dubai and a key gateway into China and then the second aircraft is delivered in January 2021 will the rollout of long haul flights go into overdrive, aimed to capture traffic into and out of Uganda – London will be reachable for the first time in over a decade with a direct flight – but also tap into traffic from the airline’s existing 8 Eastern African destinations plus Johannesburg, Kinshasa and Lusaka, the latter three due to be launched soon.
