UNWTO has the pleasure to announce the First World Conference on Tourism for Development that will be held in Beijing, China from 18th to 21st of May 2016 and which also coincides with the celebration of the China Tourism Day on 19th of May 2016.
The conference will be held under the theme ‘Tourism for Peace and Development‘ and will feature discussions on major issues that have a direct bearing on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), poverty alleviation through tourism and the linkage between tourism and peace at the highest national and international levels.
The Government of the People’s Republic of China will also host the T20 Ministers’ Meeting within the framework of the First World Conference on Tourism for Development. It is expected that several heads of state and government as well as tourism ministers and senior officials from over 100 countries will participate in this significant gathering of the international tourism community in 2016.
