Over 35 Ministers confirm participation at UNWTO/ICAO Ministerial Conference

Over thirty-five African Ministers of Tourism, Aviation and Transport have confirmed their participation at the forth-coming first ministerial conference on Tourism and Air Transport in Africa slated for 27th to the 29th of March in Sal Island, Cabo Verde.
Other International Agencies and private sector stakeholders from both sectors such as African Union, IATA, AFRAA, ASECNA, World Bank, ECOWAS,ACI as well as several airline companies have also confirmed their participation to the conference.
This first Ministerial Conference on Tourism and Air Transport in Africa aims to build on progress and advancements achieved in both sectors. It aims to develop and generate pragmatic solutions that will enable African States to maximize the benefits of tourism development and air transport services in the continent.
The event which will be held from the 27th to 29th of March on Sal Island, is being organized under the patronage of the Cabo Verde Government in collaboration with the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), a specialised agency of the United Nations for Tourism and Aviation respectively.
The President of Cabo Verde Jorge Carlos Fonseca is expected to open the conference.
