The publication highlights the progress the global tourism sector has made in advancing gender equality, with key case studies and statistics gathered from around the world. |

The theme of the 2019 World Conference, ‘Investing in future generations’ will concentrate on cultural transmission, community and capacity building. This conference will demonstrate the importance of enabling local stakeholders to have a voice in how tourism is managed both now and in the future. Panelists will share their perspectives on the priority investments that need to be made today to ensure tourism is developed in line with the Sustainable Development Goals and the UNWTO Global Code of Ethics for Tourism. |

The growing sports tourism sector took centre stage at the Global Tourism Economy Forum in Macau, SAR with the first ‘SPORTSTECH’ edition of the World Tourism Organization’s Tourism Tech Adventures initiative celebrating the most disruptive ideas and innovators from around the world. This served as the ideal backdrop to determine the winner of the 1st UNWTO Sports Tourism Start-up Competition, launched with the Barca Innovation hub of Football Club FC Barcelona and supported by the Qatar National Tourism Council. |
