Atta Alert: Incident at US-Kenya Military Base – Lamu County

We are aware of an attack that is suspected to have been launched by Al Shabaab militants on a US-Kenya Military Based in Lamu County which was successfully repulsed.

The FCO currently warns against all Non Essential travel to Lamu County (Excluding Lamu Island and Manda Island). Our contacts on the ground report that Lamu Island and Manda Island are unaffected.

We recommend members who are operating in or have clients travelling to Lamu Island to monitor the FCO travel advise for any potential updates as the current travel advice remains unchanged.
