Uganda’s internet restored after a 5 day outage
ATCNews extends congratulations to His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on his re-election to the highest office in the land.
Congratulations also go to the NRM party for once again securing a very strong majority in the newly elected parliament. In fact congratulations go to all those elected to parliament on both sides of the aisle.
To all the participants in the just concluded elections a thank you for the generally peaceful conduct and for accepting the announced election results.
Later in January will a second round of elections take place to elect Mayors and local council members across the country.
Meanwhile does the ATCNews team also commiserate the people of Mozambique and her neighbouring countries of Zimbabwe and South Africa following the recent severe flooding, displacement of hundreds of thousands of people and a very large number of casualties.

Unable to report on the weather situation – as ATCNews would otherwise have done, (due to the internet outage) – we belatedly express our sympathy and also extend condolences to the families and friends who lost loved ones in the recent tropical cyclone.
The internet outage was announced by ATCNews in the nick of time to advise readers and followers of the subsequent downtime of the news service.
Uganda Election Update: Internet outages expected after polls close on 15th January
The ATCNews team will later today resume broadcasting regular aviation, travel and conservation news and thanks readers and supporters for their patience over the past 5 days when no news updates could be posted.
